HYDROTHERAPY PROGRAMS

Benefits of Hydrotherapy Classes:

- Water enhances relaxation and relief of pain syndromes.

- Assists with joint movement and reduces the compressive force of gravity.

- Improving range of motion.

- Increase muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness.

- Re-educate movement and muscle recruitment patterns.

- Reduce pain.

- Promote relaxation.

- Assist with walking patterns.

- Improve function.

How it Works:

Water is also useful in physical therapy patients because patients who exercise in a buoyant medium can move weak parts of their bodies without contending with the strong force of gravity.

Hydrotherapy is successful by using the effects of turbulence, buoyancy and warmth to reduce the levels of pain, spasm and discomfort which are often brought about by exercising on land. After an assessment of the participant's condition, the Therapist devises an appropriate individualized exercise routine for that person and the recovery process is commenced.

What is Involved?

Each participant will be assessed, prior to class commencement, by a physical therapist to ensure Hydrotherapy Classes are suitable for their condition. The standard Hydrotherapy Program consists of 2 classes per week, each approximately one hour in duration. The program consists of 8 sessions. Once completed the participant's goals are re-assessed. The fee for this program is $240.00.
