Susan Saretsky BSc.PT

• Physical Therapy Consultant for the Lumbo Pelvic Rehabilitation and Women's Health Program. This includes injuries caused by sport, pregnancy, childbirth, disease conditions or surgery. She has also consulted in the area of osteoporosis research at the University of Calgary.

• Practitioner and real-time ultrasound which is used to evaluate proper muscle use of the low back and abdomen.

• Level 2 Manual Therapy, level 1 Sport Physiotherapy completed and numerous other continuing educational courses. Specializing in sports injuries, orthopedics & lumbo pelvic rehabilitation and women's health program. Work with rugby, hockey, figure skating and volleyball teams.

Nancy Fletcher B.A.P.E., B.Sc.PT

• Nancy joins Southland Sport Physiotherapy from Lindsay Park and, previous to that, she gained five (5) years experience working in the United Kingdom. She has taken numerous post-graduate manual therapy courses and enjoys treating a wide variety of orthopaedic and sports injuries. She has a particular interest in gymnastics, soccer and rugby.

MASSAGE THERAPISTS:

Joelle Malcolm BPE, RMT, ARMTS Registered Massage Therapist

Joelle has obtained a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Calgary and the title of Registered Therapist from Kikkawa College (2200 hours) in Toronto, Ontario. Since graduation she has been working in private practice with orthopedic patients. Joelle is licensed to practice massage therapy in the province of Alberta and is in good standing with the provincial associations of both Ontario and Alberta, and the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario. Treatment techniques include Swedish Massage Therapy, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, treatment of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) and remedial exercise. Joelle has been involved with coaching competitive swimming, enjoys working with athletes and has treated a wide range of patients.

Greg Petrie AMTWP, ARMTS

Greg has been practicing massage therapy since 1989. He completed his advanced studies at Mount Royal College in 1994. He has co-developed a specialized treatment called Trigger Point Release Sequencing, which aids in the recovery and function of musculo-skeletal dysfunction. In 1997 Greg was a director of the Alberta Registered Therapists Society. Greg has also become an educator of massage therapy, teaching clinical skills to volunteers at the Rockyview Wildlife Recovery Centre, as well as teaching specialized courses at Mount Royal College. Greg is involved with Hospice Calgary in the training and education of volunteers. Greg's special interests lies with orthopedic massage therapy and the use of trigger point release techniques. He also specializes in TMJ (jaw joint) disorders.

ATHLETIC THERAPIST/KINESIOLOGIST

Udo Kaufman B.Sc.Dip.A.T.

Udo graduated from Mount Royal College with a diploma in Athletic Therapy and furthered his education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, Alberta. He has been involved as a team therapist with elite hockey at the major midget and major junior levels and is currently providing clinical services at Southland Sport Physiotherapy. It is here that his duties include Functional Capacity Evaluations, exercise rehabilitation and custom knee bracing. Udo is also employed as an Athletic Therapist with the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League.

Lee MacKenzie B.Sc. Kinesiology

Lee has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, Alberta as well an Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy from Mount Royal College. One of his specific interests lies in pool rehabilitation. Lee works with a broad spectrum of patients including, brain injuries, stroke, post surgical, osteoarthritis, and many other conditions. Specific attention is paid to postural control, balance and proper movement patterns. A second specific interest is core stabilitation. The primary concerns are low back stabilization and proper pelvic mechanics during activities of daily living, athletics and laborious work.
