WORK CONDITIONING

Work conditioning

Work conditioning is a worker-focused exercised-based program which matches the activity level of the injured worker to the physical demands of his/her job. An individual exercise or conditioning program is designed for the worker based on a work demands analysis determined during the initial assessment between the physical therapist and the worker. The work demands analysis is confirmed with the employer whenever possible.

The goal of work conditioning is to safely return the injured worker to productive work whether that be his or her pre-injury job, modified duties or a new job, in a timely manner. Education is a major component of our work conditioning program. In order to be successful in a work conditioning program the worker must be taught how to progress through an exercise program and ways in which he or she can take control of or participate in their own recovery process.
